Restoration Arts Dance - RAD Group / RAD Ministry Team

RESTORATION ARTS DANCE - RAD
 - Radical praise & worship thru dance!
Psalm 149:3 - "Let them praise His name with dancing..."

The purpose of RAD is to bring dancers together in a spirit of unity, who share the heart and passion to praise and worship God through dance,
and desire to be the radical difference this culture needs to see through dance that shines God's light and love out in the community.
 (Psalm 133; John 4:23-24; Psalm 149:3)

RAD GROUP
A brief history: From 2010 to 2014, RAD Group (under Church of the Highlands) has met weekly, and participated in several community outreaches to nursing homes, Grace House. citywide worship events, The Wellhouse "Freedom Crusade" at Linn Park, etc.  Over 50 dancers have been a part of "RAD Group" to date. Additional RADical classes and workshops have also been offered, and a RADical Dance Class was offered at Woodlawn High School in 2012-2013, and, most recently (January, 2014), a RADical Dance Class was held at Dance Across Birmingham at the BJCC (in conjunction with the Alabama Dance Festival), and a RAD Outreach Ministry Team danced at the DAB Showcase.  Aside from the above, there has been a lot of fellowship, fun, encouragement and growing together as followers of Christ.

Presently, in lieu of RAD Group, we are focusing solely on a more committed team effort through the newly formed RAD Ministry Team.

RAD MINISTRY TEAM
2014-2015
This team is open to those who have the heart's desire and ability (ballet and/or jazz training, etc.) to use dance as ministry within the community, and are willing to commit the necessary rehearsal time towards a set goal. The team's main rehearsal focus this fall will be in preparation to perform on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at the Dance Across Birmingham showcase event (in conjunction with the Alabama Dance Festival).
If you are interested in joining the newly formed RAD MINISTRY TEAM, either as a dancer or  in a supportive role, please emailrestorationartsdance@gmail.com for more information.
(Note:  Dancers will go through an audition process; supportive team members are welcomed who share the heart and vision of RAD.
All team members commit to follow leadership ministry guidelines.  Minimum age requirement: 17)

The heart and vision of RAD is that we first experience God’s presence and restoration, and then are used to share His glorious, restoring love and power with others through excellent, spirit filled contemporary dance!
(Psalm 16:11; Psalm 23:3)
